The first stop for many Nigerians when there is a health challenge or life emergency is the clinic. Many lives have been saved thus, and many others have been lost thus owing to lack of expertise, proper infrastructure or basic amenities. It is often said that the majority of clinics in Nigeria are under-equipped and lacking many basic amenities.
Such a situation that poses a threat to lives calls for a positive response, not just from the government of the day; but also from organizations and well-meaning Nigerians. Everything and anything that can be done should be done, and quickly too. It doesn’t matter how little.
This is what we would preach and teach, and so that was exactly what we did on the 2nd of January, 2019 at Owerre Ezukala Health Centre in Orumba L.G.A., Anambra State, Nigeria. Visible Voices Foundation made a donation of toiletries and baby clothes to the health center. We hope to do more of such deeds with the support of all our partners and well-meaning individuals out there. And also sincerely hope that many more organization and individuals begin to put the Nigerian health centers in remembrance for charitable donations.
